Travel around Namibia at your own pace. Whether you travel as a backpacker or glampacker, it is nice to have a calm start to the journey with flights, pick up at the airport and two nights at a guest house in Windhoek pre-booked and ready.
Best travel period
Namibia has 300 days of sunshine a year and is dry and pleasant almost all year round. Desert landscapes can give hot days and chilly nights. At the coast it is cool and foggy and in the north hot and humid. The rains come between December and March, sometimes starting in November. The coolest months are between June and August. The absolute best time for a safari is during the dry period September-October when the animals flock to the water holes.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Departure from Scandinavia
Departure from Scandinavia to Namibia’s capital Windhoek.
Day 2: Arrival Windhoek
There is only an hour time difference between Sweden and Namibia in the winter and none in the summer so after a night on board the flight you land in Windhoek. You will be picked up at the airport and driven to your guest house.
Day 3: Windhoek on your own
You have the day to get acquainted with Windhoek. Here is the beautiful Christuskirche, Namibia Crafts Center, Independence Memorial Center and not least dinner at Joe’s Beerhouse.
Day 4: Further adventure
Now you continue the adventure on your own. We of course help with booking a bus, car and accommodation – we highly recommend that you visit Etosha National Park with its fantastic wildlife, Africa’s largest ravine Fish River Canyon, the magnificent dunes of Soussusvlei and perhaps a canoe trip among the sea lions in Walvis Bay.
